As a researcher, I am interested in the materiality of paginated media, including but not limited to the printed book. My doctoral research in media studies and design history at Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design focuses on authorship in design, écriture typographique, and materially embedded ideologies. My research has been supported by the German Academic Exchange Service, as well as fellowships at the Cultural Foundation Schloss Wiepersdorf and the German Literature Archive Marbach.
My forthcoming PhD dissertation, supervised by 🔗 Petra Maria Meyer, examines the historical influence of poststructuralist theories of writing, text, and authorship on 20th- and 21st-century book design practices through three case studies from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s.
